[For most of her life, a life spent locked away and isolated even from her family, Elsa never once thought she'd grow so... close to another person. Hell, even in recent years, with Arendelle flourishing under her rule and the gates open to all, she still had trouble really connecting to people outside of Anna. So it was quite a surprise when the ruling nobles of one of Arendelle's closest allies had visited, bringing their daughters along with them, and when she'd met the elder sister... God, Winter was everything she wanted to be. Strong, confident, commanding in a way that inspired others rather than made them cower (... though she did have a bit of an edge in that regard). She held herself with pride, with a firmness Elsa still hasn't quite gotten the hang of yet...

... Imagine Elsa's surprise when she realized that it wasn't just admiration she was feeling, but attraction. Mutual attraction! Something she'd never had experience in, something she'd stuttered and fumbled through when she'd finally gotten the courage up to express said attraction. And Winter... Winter had taken it surprisingly well. Even when Elsa was sure her friend would have gotten tired of her fretting, Winter had continued to court her, had eventually proposed, and now...

The wedding had been beautiful. The reception (that Anna had adamantly insisted she be the one to prepare) just as much so. It felt like it had lasted for days, with how they'd been so caught up in the excitement, but eventually, their guests had retired for the night, and it was time for the newlyweds to do the same.

And that's when Elsa's nerves returned full-force. They'd been absent since the ceremony, thankfully, but now that she was alone once more with Winter, with the... implications of what the next stage of their wedding night should be, oh boy do those nerves hit her. Enough that, while it isn't too chilly in their room, a few stray snowflakes fall from the ceiling. Elsa herself doesn't seem to notice, as she's too fixated on wringing her hands together.]

So... that was some celebration, wasn't it?

[Oh god why does she always default to the most boring small talk ever when she's nervous? Good job, Elsa....]

[ Winter has had little time to relax in... days, now? Days. The wedding hasn't even really been her responsibility, technically, but... she can't help but feel responsible for making sure things go smoothly. Blame the strategist in her, but she did what she could in the preparations, much though she was told by younger sisters both directly and indirectly involved to step back a little. And to her credit, she tried.

Regardless, it's finally happened. She's married Elsa. It's been a long courtship, but Winter can't say she regrets a moment of it. She gives Elsa a reassuring, relieved smile, certainly not as full of nerves but not entirely unaffected by the upcoming... events herself. The cold, as always, bothers her little - it's one thing they both seem to have in common, the ability to make other people feel colder, even if in Elsa's case it's more... literal. But the chills Winter feels around Elsa are great, by her reckoning.

Meandering wordplay aside, she looks at her wife (something she's not going to tire of calling Elsa anytime soon) and nods. ]

It certainly was. Well worth all the preparations.

[ Winter crosses slowly closer to Elsa, expression gentler than probably anyone else has ever seen? Maybe Weiss, once or twice. She chuckles a little, softly. ]

I'm flattered I have that effect on you, dear.

[ She smiles. ]

It's a shame you couldn't see how radiant you were.
